Busted Again – Domestic Steroid Dealer Arrested Just Weeks After Pleading Guilty To Similar Charges

This is not the kind of story that you usually see immediately following an individual pleading guilty to criminal charges.

But according to information released by the NSW Police, Dylan Shaw has been arrested once again for selling anabolic steroids and controlled substances just a few short weeks after he had pled guilty to a number of different charges specifically related to the importation of steroids and drug trafficking.

NSW police officers arrested Mr. Shaw outside of a local restaurant in the suburbs of Sydney during a bust conducted in July 2018. Mr. Shaw has been arrested with the charge of conducting another drug deal, and when investigators received a warrant to search his home and property they found a considerable amount of controlled substances, anabolic steroids, and unprocessed anabolic steroid powder that seems to suggest he had fired his drug distribution ring back up again just weeks after pleading guilty.

Police also report that they found nearly $200,000 on his person during the drug bust, it’s likely that these charges are going to be more than enough to make sure that he is no longer able to avoid prison on his first guilty plea.

Trouble for Mr. Shaw began in November 2060 when he began to be investigated by NSW police. After receiving an anonymous tip that Shaw had been the kingpin for a major anabolic steroid ring in Australia, police began a more than two year sting operation against Mr. Shaw – a sting investigation that uncovered one of the largest anabolic steroid distribution networks in the nation.

Setting up a Facebook group to distribute his illegal anabolic steroids, a Facebook group called “Swole Ninja Community”, Shaw had been working with his girlfriend Nateesha Barlin to important anabolic steroid powder from overseas, produce the anabolic steroids themselves, and then sell those anabolic steroids to members of the community as well as locals in the Sydney area looking for these performance-enhancing drugs.

During the course of the two-year investigation, the NSW and the Australian Border Force were able to seize 17 packages that contains over 13,000 tablets of pharmaceutical grade drugs, more than 11,000 mL of anabolic steroids and testosterone, 600 mL of other injectable steroids, more than 100 capsules of oxymetholone, over 120 mL of clenbuterol, 190+ vials of HGH, and that was just the tip of the iceberg.

The court proceedings were brought in front of Judge Bozic, and the news throughout Australia was paying close attention to the final verdict and sentencing in this case. New Intensive Correction Orders (ICOs) were being made available as a new sentencing solution for these kinds of crimes, and it looked like the judge was going to move forward with that kind of sentencing after Shaw plead gluilty.

Now, however, it looks less likely that Shaw is going to be able to avoid any serious jailtime. He would have been able to move forward with parole under the ICO charges, but this new arrest – just a few weeks after he plead guilty to almost identical charges – shows that he is certainly not intending to turn over a new leaf and leave this kind of life behind.

As of right now, the judge has not decided whether or not to move forward with an ICO for the initial charge. But it looks very unlikely that Shaw will be able to get an ICO for this second charge, that’s for sure.

Investigators are still putting the pieces of this situation together, but right now Shaw’s girlfriend Barlin is not considered to be a suspect.
